Braun ThermoScan 5

Influenster is at it again! I received another VoxBox the other day to test out…this one was for the Braun ThermoScan 5 digital ear thermometer.  

I was probably more excited about this VoxBox than I should’ve been. I have an 8 month old daughter, and I put a Braun on my baby registry and never got one *sad face.* I couldn’t bring myself to spend $50 on a thermometer so we’ve stuck w/ jamming 1 under her arm pit. Sorry kid.

I’ve always heard good things about Braun, but if I had known just how amazing their brand is, then I wouldn’t have hesitated for a second about dropping that kind of cash. This is by far the best baby gadget I own. It’s easy to use, works ridiculously fast and is more accurate than other ear thermometers I’ve used with my oldest daughter. 

Getting my baby to sit still longer than 5 seconds is a huge task, so I’m really loving that this only takes a couple seconds to tell me how warm she is. That scored huge bonus points. Add in the accuracy and you have a super combo that any mom will love! If you’re in the market for a new thermometer, the Braun Thermoscan 5 should definitely be at the top of your list.

Whiplash Eyelash Curler

I was lucky enough to get in on the Whiplash eyelash curler from Crave Naturals the other day. This is by far one of my new favorite beauty companies. I’m obsessed!

I’ve never been big on eyelash curlers before. I always thought they looked like some sort of medieval torture device. And then I saw this. This is definitely not your mom’s curler.

I don’t know what I like more, the pink pads and handles, or the awesome comic book style packaging. Maybe it’s the lifetime warranty…who knows…it’s all pretty awesome.

So I’ve spent the last week trying this out and I have to say that I kinda love it. It doesn’t rip out my eyelashes like I thought it would. It took me a couple days to get enough guts to put it right up against my eyelid, but I’m glad I did. This gave my lashes a fuller look without having to spend a bunch of money on false lashes or expensive mascaras. 

If you’re in the market for a new lash curler then this is definitely what you should be looking at! I don’t know how I went so long without it…it’s definitely become a must have for my morning makeup routine.

The Swag List

I’ve had a lot of people ask me how I get all of this free stuff and I haven’t really had the time to write everyone back, so I figured I would share it here instead 🙂

1. Influenster. This was the 1st site I joined and probably the most fun. I love the products they send out in their voxboxes and I’ve had pretty good luck with them. Click https://www.influenster.com/ to join.

2. Swaggable. This site is alright. It’s not my favorite, but they have a ton of products that I’ve never heard of before. I haven’t had anything from them in awhile. They seem like they’re pretty hit or miss. Click http://www.swaggable.com/ to join

3. Pinch Me. I don’t like this site. They post things on Tuesdays and you have to jump right on it out you want to get anything. 4. Tomoson. I don’t really know what to say about this site. They have some of the most random things I’ve ever seen. Every item has different prerequisites that you have to fulfill before you get approved to review. I’ve only been approved for 1 thinking so far…so the jury is still out on this site. 6. Bzzagent. I’m still not sure about this site. Honestly…I’m kinda pissed at them. It took about 3 months before I qualified for anything. I filled out all the surveys they had for me, and then I had to sit there while they gave out all these awesome toys that my daughter would’ve loved. What was the first campaign that I got? Dial Acne Control face and body wash. Sample sizes…I didn’t even get full size products. 7. Review Gifts. This site is…ummmm…different. They give you a bunch of health and beauty products to choose from and have you sort them into 3 different groups: Must Have, Would Like and Don’t Want. Once they have your products in stock, they will send an email with a coupon code to checkout with on Amazon.com. I’ve only received 1 item from them, but I like them so far. These products aren’t cheap. My must haves range anywhere from $49.95-$89.95. This site is by invitation only, so if you would like to sign up then let me know!

8. Crave Bloggers. This. This site is awesome! I have been with them for about a month and received 2 products so far, my Precisio tweezers and a Whiplash eyelash curler (review coming soon!), both of which have lifetime guarantees. Precisio Tweezers

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been slacking lately. Between a new job and gearing up to move, life hasn’t left me with a lot of time to review the awesome stuff I’ve been getting! Now it’s time to get back into the swing of things…and what better way to kick it off than with beauty products!

I got these tweezers from Crave Bloggers. I’d never heard of it before, but a couple of my friends talked me into signing up and I’m so glad I did!

The Precisio tweezers are probably the best I’ve ever had. They’re profession grade and can seriously be used for anything. 

My biggest problem with tweezers is my husband. I don’t know what he uses them for, but he destroys every pair I have. Am I right ladies?! So far these have stood up to the ungodly torture that I’m sure he has inflicted on them, but they still work great for plucking my eyebrows.

Twitter Party!

Ok I just attended my 1st Influenster voxbox Twitter party. I’m not really a twitter person, so this was new for me. But I had a blast!!!!!

They wrapped up the party by sending mystery tweets about their upcoming Caliente voxbox. Wanna know what they said? Well here ya go!

They picked a handful of lucky bitches who automatically made it into the voxbox…I wasn’t one of them. Damn. Maybe next time.

I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Spring voxbox…The brand badges should wrap up in the next month or so. We’ll see how many of those I win. Stay tuned….

Brand Badges Pt. 3

 

What a crazy busy week! Now that I have some time, I figured I would fill you all in on what’s been happening on Influenster.

I figured out a way to unlock brand badges for voxboxes that I haven’t qualified for (shhhh! Don’t tell!). So I’ve been stalking the badges like a crazy ex to see what I can unlock. Here’s what I have so far.

The first brand badge is for Ivory. In order to qualify for this one all I had to do was follow Ivory on Twitter (@Ivory), share my opinion on Twitter and then share an Ivory picture on Facebook. Easy enough. The top 180 badge holders win some body wash, a 10 pack of Ivory bar soap, liquid hand soap and 2-in-1 hair and body wash. With 2 kids and a husband who works in a kitchen all day, I can never have too much soap in my house!

The next badge I unlocked is for P&G. This one I’m probably over excited about, which just goes to show what a boring adult I’ve turned into. For this one I liked them on Facebook, commented on a post and shared another post onto my Facebook wall. The super awesome prize for this badge is a P&G brand sampler basket for the top 100 badge holders. It comes with laundry detergent, mouthwash, razors and a ton of other exciting mom stuff. I’m seriously keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

My next badge is for Pure Ice nail polish. The top 50 badge holders win 8 pieces of nail polish. My 4 year old is obsessed with having her nails done, so this one is perfect! She’s completely demolished my entire nail polish collection, so I’m excited to stock up again. This badge was really easy to do. I had to take a picture of Pure Ice on the shelves at Walmart and then upload a pic of my manicure. Boom! Done.

The last badge I have is from eBay. This one is pretty awesome considering I’m an eBay addict. I had to write 3 different how to guides. It’s pretty easy, but it takes some time. All that effort paid off cuz I automatically get a $25 eBay gift card. Now this brand badge wasn’t a stolen one…it was a virtual vox that I qualified for and is probably one of my favorite badges that I have so far. I can’t stop online shopping! So far I have about a million things to spend my gift card on. Too bad $25 won’t buy them all lol.

Playtex Brand Badge

I’m breaking down. I finally gave in and decided to unlock the Playtex Sport Fresh Balance brand badge.

I’m sure you’ve caught on by now, but I received their tampons complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

I’ve always been a Tampax girl, so I wasn’t really big on trying a new brand. I’m still not sure what I think about them. They work well enough, they haven’t leaked, but I still can’t get passed the scent. It’s like they dipped their tampons in really awful perfume and then dipped them again.

Really…what’s the point of scented tampons anyway? No matter how hard you try, you can’t cover up the period smell. It’s just not gonna happen.

But if you can get over the scent, then I would recommend buying them.

Now it’s time to talk prizes 🙂 The top 3 badge holders will receive a Purse Pak and additional Playtex products. Now I’m not sure what a Purse Pak has in it, and I’m pretty sure I won’t find out. Brand Badges Pt 2

I went to take a much needed nap with my girls and when I woke up there was ANOTHER Brand Badge to unlock! This one I’m REALLY excited about!

The Rimmel Retro Glam Mascara badge is has got to be my favorite so far. All I had to do was share a Rimmel London US tweet, review the mascara on RimmelLondon.com, and post a pic of my mascara on Twitter. So what is the super awesome prize on this one? Brand Badges

Influenster has started putting out the brand badges for the Spring Voxbox! I’m so stoked!

The first one I unlocked is for Kiss everlasting French Nails. This one is probably my favorite because EVERYONE who unlocks it automatically wins a prize pack with an imPRESS press on manicure kit, a KISS 3D nail artist charms kit and a KISS nail artists sticker set in neon. That’s over $15 with with of free Kiss products!

The next badge is for the Softlips Cube. I’m really excited about this one because of how amazing the Cube makes my lips feel. The top 5 badge holders win the entire Softlips Cube collection and a $10 Ulta gift card. I’m not very confident about this one. Out of ALL the people who unlock it, only 5 win the top prize. But 30 runners up will get the Softlips Cube in Vanilla and Berry Mint. That’s still pretty awesome…but 30 people out of 1500 isn’t much.

The last brand badge I unlocked is the Nivea badge. This badge only has 5 winners too, but the prize is amazing! Kiss Everlasting French Nails

I did it. I took off my chipped off nail polish and fancied up my hands! I’m not gonna lie…I was a little nervous about the nails at first. I’m not the most coordinated person, so glue on nails are not my thing. They usually end up crooked, which I’ve learned is not a good look for me.

I had my 4 year old spend some quality time with her baby sister so that I could concentrate and I busted open the nail kit. They
turned out WAY better than I thought they would. My left hand even looks pretty decent (but not as good as my right hand…so that’s what you get a picture of). The only thing I don’t really like is that you can see air bubbles under the nail…or maybe they’re glue bubbles…who knows. But I guess the only way to get rid of those is with lots of practice, which I don’t have.

After all the sizing and screaming babies in the background, I would definitely have to recommend these nails. You can pick them up and pretty much any store on the face of the planet for around $6. Do yourself a favor and go grab a pack. Fancify yourself
